This is only a small sample of the MANY rides offered and listed with the Southern Bicycle League. Please check their website link below for their complete ride calendar.

  • Tuesday weekly - Melton's App & Tap - 6:30 PM - Moderate. The route is around 12 miles from Melton's through Avondale Estates and back. Over the bridge, around the lake, through the cemetery, through the seminary and through the park. Need any more enticement? Then try the 21 mile long option. This very social group meets after the ride at Melton's for fun, food, and spirits. Meet in the parking lot at Melton's App & Tap at the corner of N. Decatur Rd. and Scott Blvd. in Decatur. Helmets as well as head and tail lights are required (lights required during Standard Time). No ride if raining.   • Thursday weekly - Decatur Wonderful Evening Ride - 6:30 PM - Moderate. Starts in the CVS drug store parking lot at the corner of W. Ponce de Leon and Commerce Dr. in downtown Decatur. Helmets are required! This is a moderate ride through residential neighborhoods. There are 11 or 18 mile options. Stay for dinner and refreshments afterwards. No ride if raining.   • June 28 - Stone Mountain Bike & Hike. The Atlanta Bicycle Campaign's Stone Mountain Bike and Hike combines the joy of cycling from L5P to Stone Mountain with a hike up the mountain. After the ride, the group will reconvene at a local establishment for lunch (No ride if raining).   • July 12 - Sunday. 9 AM - Bicycle South Ride to Stone Mountain (And Back!) This is a great ride for anyone who is new to group rides or riding in general and families with older kids. We leave the shop at 9:00 AM and make our way out to Stone Mountain Park and back on the bicycle path. Total mileage is about 18 miles round-trip. Once we get to Stone Mountain Park, riders have the option of riding around the mountain or just riding back. Free snacks and drinks at Bicycle South after the ride, Brian's Special Secret Spinach Dip and Jane Boykin's less secret, but just as yummy, Texas Black Bean Caviar. Please show up a few minutes before the ride to pick up maps, cue sheets and meet your ride leader. Feel free to call the shop (404-636-4444) if you have any questions!
  • July 17-19 - Track Rock. Come join in for two days of riding in the North Georgia Mountains. The rides vary in length, from 21 miles to 70 miles. The campground has mountain bike and hiking trails, horseback riding and a lake to swim in. The fee for the ride includes camping for Friday and Saturday nights and maps for riding.
